EMC General Updates

Chairman’s Report 2021

At the end of a term in office like no other in the history of Brynhill, I would like to thank Alan Sweeney for steering the Club through a very difficult time. A year where difficult decisions were made with an end goal of keeping Brynhill buoyant, an achievement he should be very proud of.

As we move into a new season, our centenary year, Alan may now sit back and let Chris Phillips take over the captaincy in the hope he will be able to do what very few captains have been able to do and that is enjoy the honour.

In the later part of 2020, a new management structure was formed. A more business-like approach was adopted as the Club moved away from an outdated General Committee. This new Executive Management Committee (EMC) will allow for better continuity and stability, giving time for forward planning without the annual change in direction, however slight that may or may not be. Although still to be ratified, the EMC’s members have settled well into their adopted roles and I am optimistic for the future.

I would personally like to thank Nicky Duval for helping to facilitate a smooth change over, her input as always is invaluable.

Looking ahead there are several areas being looked at to allow the business of Brynhill to run smoother and more effectively. From new policies and operating procedures to the general set up of the Clubhouse. I have said from the outset that the changes will be evolution and not revolution and it will take time to achieve.

It is hoped that we will be able to hold an AGM before the end of the playing season, this will depend on many factors of which we have no control over. In the meantime, please check out the EMC’s pages on the website where we will continue to post information and updates.
