Dear Members,

As we approach the festive season, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an outstanding year for Brynhill Golf Club and to thank you for your continued support.

2025 has truly been a year of progress and momentum. Today, we proudly welcomed our 500th Brynhill member — a remarkable milestone when you consider that we stood at just 203 members in May 2023. This growth is a testament to the strength of our club, our facilities, and most importantly, our people.

Over the past year, we have delivered a number of significant projects. The Brynhill Lounge renovation is already paying dividends, helping us host more events and enhance the member experience, while Lunch at Twelve’s fantastic Sunday lunches continue to grow week by week and have become a real highlight of club life.

On the course, we took delivery of a new tractor and our own aerator, giving us greater control over greens maintenance and long-term course conditioning. We also constructed a brand-new template tee, complete with irrigation and drainage, improving playability and resilience. Alongside this, we completed the ladies’ locker room renovation, made possible with the help of a £21,000 grant, and constructed a fenced and gated waste storage area within the car park to improve safety and presentation.

We had a record year for visitors and green-fee revenue, testament to the Pro-Shop for handling and organising bookings, and the course staff for producing a quality course that golfers want to come and play.

As we close the year, we are delighted to have received confirmation of further support, including an £18,000 grant towards improvements to our course path network and a £20,000 grant towards an air source heat pump and solar installation for the clubhouse, which will deliver significant annual savings and improve sustainability. We are also now ahead of many other clubs with the launch of our own Members Hub app, giving members one-click access to club updates, fixtures, and essential club information.

And we are not stopping there. In February, we begin work on the Players Bar renovation, one of the most exciting projects the club has undertaken to date. We also have plans in place for a men’s locker room renovation, which we hope to deliver in 2026.

The ongoing success and growth of Brynhill would not be possible without the incredible people behind the scenes. Our staff and volunteers are exceptional — from the Pro Shop team, who are truly the hub of the club, to the course team, bar and clubhouse staff, and our partners at Lunch at Twelve and Neil’s team. As we celebrate together at our annual staff Christmas party, I want to sincerely thank them for their commitment, hard work, and belief in the future of Brynhill.

Our club volunteers who sometimes go un-noticed - In particular, Colin Lewis, Jamie Griffiths, Andy Chick, Rob Garn and Richard Pierce - I am in awe of what you do in your own free time, and the club truly thanks you for all that you do to make the club a better one.

I would also like to thank the Executive Management Committee, who do a tremendous job in supporting my role and are always there when needed.

A very special thank you goes to our Office Manager, Nicky. Nicky works tirelessly behind the scenes, and quite simply, I could not do what I do without her dedication, professionalism, and genuine desire to see Brynhill succeed. Her value to this club — and to me personally — cannot be overstated. Thank you, Nicky.

Finally, I would like to thank you, our members. We are working hard every day to improve your experience at Brynhill. While things may not always be perfect, we listen, we learn, and we strive to get better. We are committed to growth and to establishing Brynhill as a top-tier South Wales parkland venue, and together, we will get there.

Thank you for your loyalty and support throughout 2025. On behalf of everyone at the club, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Here’s to an exciting and successful 2026 at Brynhill Golf Club.

Warm regards,
Scott Warne
