I have been a proud member of Brynhill Golf Club since 1999 and have been delighted to serve as Lisa’s vice-captain for the past season. Over more than two decades at the club, I have enjoyed every aspect of Brynhill life – from the challenge of its superb course to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes the club such a special place.
Before taking up golf, I was a keen sportsman, playing rugby for Barry RFC, where I was captain during the 1976/77 season, sadly a knee injury brought this to a halt halfway through the season, I also played football for Barry Athletic and had a go at many other sports. Golf became my new passion when other sports became out of reach, I only wish I had discovered golf at an earlier age.
My wife Linda has also been a member since 1999; Linda has also served as Ladies captain. Together we have been actively involved in club life for many years and value the strong sense of community the club offers. We have two children and four Grandchildren, all of whom are sports-minded and enjoy golf along with other sports.
Approachable and supportive, I enjoy both competitive and social golf and believe the club’s strength lies in its members. I look forward to working closely with the EMC, Club Manager Scott Warne, Green Keepers and members to uphold Brynhill’s traditions, encourage participation across all aspects of the club and help to ensure the club continues to thrive both on and off the course.
