10 Point Members Code Of Conduct

To ensure the safety and well-being of all our members, staff, and visitors, we have introduced this Code of Conduct policy. This document outlines essential health and safety guidelines that everyone is expected to follow while at the club. Our insurance provider and the Vale of Glamorgan Health and Safety Executive have both requested to see the measures we are putting in place to manage risk and maintain high standards. By reading and signing this policy, you are helping us demonstrate our commitment to creating a safe and responsible environment for everyone at the club. All members of Brynhill Golf Club, whether new or existing, are required to confirm that they have read this document and agree to follow the standards and health and safety directives it sets out."

1. CAR PARK AREA -

✅ Please be aware of vehicles, and silent electric vehicles operating in the car park and will be alert at all times.

✅ Please only park in designated parking spots, and if no spaces are available, please use the overflow car park.

✅ Please note that all official designated parking bays assigned to Club officials are not to be parked in. This includes the vacant ladies Captain space which is now assigned to club staff only.

✅ All disabled bays are only to be used by vehicles displaying a blue badge.

✅ No vehicles are to be parked alongside the front of the clubhouse, or near the entrance at any time.

2. PRACTICE FACILITIES -

✅ The undercover practice facility is a warm up area and practice area, please read the safety rules upon entering the facility.

✅ In accordance with the VOG H&S executive directives, all shots on the practice area must be hit away from nearby houses, and only back up toward the direction of the clubhouse, please do not hit shots in any direction that risks neighbouring properties or other golfers.

✅ Please note the practice chipping green is for chipping only, please do not hit full shots into the practice green that cause pitch marks or damage.

✅ Please follow the clubs dress code, including appropriate footwear whilst on the practice area.Details can be found on the website under AT BRYNHILL in the menu.

✅ Only official club members and signed in guests can use the practice facilities. Please do not take non-members or non paying guests onto the facility to hit golf balls.

3. COURSE HEALTH & SAFETY -

✅ Please be aware of crossover points on the course, and always check for golfers hitting balls before proceeding. Please be aware of who has priority on the cross-over holes.

✅ Shouting 'Fore!' is required if a stray shot is heading toward other golfers on the course

✅ Please note that if you hear shouts of 'Fore!', you must immediately try and crouch low and protect your head and be alert.

✅ There are defibrillators on the 1st tee / clubhouse area and on the 9th tee at Corey’s Corner - (please familiarise yourself with how to use them should the need arise)

✅ Green-staff and machinery are frequently operating on the course, and they must be given priority at all times.

✅ Please do not cross course boundaries to retrieve golf balls, especially from farmers fields which is considered as trespass and you could risk spreading diseases.

✅ In accordance with the VOG H&S executive directive, if you hit an errand shot on the 17th / 18th holes and your ball leaves the boundary of the course and crosses into the residential area, you must report it to the office or pro shop on the same day. You can send a Whatsapp message to the GM if everything is closed.

✅ Brynhill Golf Club accepts no liability for any injuries sustained by individuals while on the golf course. This includes, but is not limited to, slips, trips, falls, or being struck by stray golf balls or equipment. We strongly recommend that all members and visitors obtain personal golf insurance to protect themselves against injury or accidents, as well as any harm or damage they may cause to other players or property.

4. BASIC COURSE ETIQUETTE -

✅ Please stand aside and call faster groups through when appropriate.

✅ Please repair your pitch marks and look for others to repair whilst on the green.

✅ Please rake bunkers after use (rake to be returned to bunker in line with the direction of the hole)

✅ Please replace divots where possible and do not take divots or hit golf shots off the green surface.

✅ Please follow the clubs dress code including appropriate footwear. Details can be found on the website under AT BRYNHILL in the menu.

✅ Do not stand in another players line of sight, or on their putting line.

✅ Please remain quiet whist your playing partners are hitting shots.

✅ Do not take golf trolleys onto tees or green aprons.

✅ Please do not take warm-up swings on the tees to preserve turf condition.This includes not taking warm up swings on any part of the 1st tee. Please go down off the front of the 1st tee to perform warm up swings.

✅ You can play 6 holes, 10 holes or an 18 hole configuration and the only tee you can cut in on is the 17th tee by alternating with golfers from the 16th when not in club competitions. This only applies Mon-Fri excluding bank holidays and is at the discretion of the Pro-Shop. Cutting in on the 17th tee is not permissible on weekends or bank holidays due to volume of tee times taken.

✅ Please take all litter off the golf course, and dispose of in the sectioned recycling bins near the pro-shop area as you exit the course.

✅ Please do not share clubs or other golf equipment with other players.

5. TEE TIME BOOKING & REGISTRATION PROTOCOL -

✅ All tee times must be booked in advance.

✅ Prior to stepping on the 1st tee or practice area, you must sign in at the shop and announce if anyone is accompanying you that is not signed in.

✅ Your Brynhill membership bag tag must be on display at all times to show that you are a paid member of the club.

✅ You can only take paid visitors or other members onto the course with you. Anybody that does accompany you onto the course as a non-golfer does so at their own risk, and will not be allowed to hit golf shots on the course or practice area.

✅ A visitor can only be signed in up to a maximum of 6 times per year.

✅ You are to notify the pro-shop at the earliest opportunity If you cannot show up for your tee time booking by calling 01446 720277 (option 1) - this then means we can release the tee time slot to other waiting golfers.

6. GOLF BUGGY ETIQUETTE -

✅ Please operate buggies safely and responsibly at all times.

✅ Please note that no children under the age of 17 can operate a golf buggy on the course or around the clubhouse car park area.

✅ Please avoid driving on or near tees, greens, steep slopes, or restricted areas.

✅ Please be aware that only 2 persons should ride in a golf buggy at any one time.

✅ You must sign a damage waiver prior to hiring a golf buggy and report any damage when you return the buggy.

7. BASIC GOLF RULES -

✅ Please familiarise yourself with the Out of Bounds (OOB) and hazard rules (e.g., red and yellow stakes).

✅ Please be aware of basic rules around lost balls, taking relief, and unplayable lies and ask for clarification when unsure about a rule.

✅ Please keep yourself up to date with local rules which are updated on the website under AT BRYNHILL in the menu.

9. WEBSITE, SIM ROOM & CLUB COMMUNICATIONS -

✅ Please familiarise yourself with how to access the members area of the website for fixtures, updates and EMC updates.

✅ Please familiarise yourself with regards to accessing the online booking system for simulator sessions.

✅ Please note that the Nest simulator room is a members only facility. If you wish to take a non Brynhill member into the sim room to use the sim then they must at least be a “Nest Sim Room” silver member. Please be aware that you cannot take guests into the facility to hit balls unless they are a Nest or Brynhill member.

✅ It is mandatory that as a Brynhill member you will be added to the main Brynhill Golf Club Whatsapp group. This group is specifically for the club to communicate important messages and is non marketing related.

✅ Every Wednesday a club newsletter is released and we ask all members to read it as it may contain important updates.

10. KEY CLUB CONTACTS & COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE -

✅ Please familiarise yourself with key contacts at the club including the GM, Director Of Golf, PGA Professionals, Office Manager, Course Manager, Bar Manager and current club President & Captains along with EMC members. This can all be found under MEET THE TEAM on the Brynhill website.

✅ Please note that if you have a complaint or concern that this can be raised officially online through the members section of the website (complaints form) and this will be dealt with directly by the GM. Club captains or other figureheads including EMC members are not to be approached in the clubhouse or on the golf course regarding any complaints or concerns unless they are urgent health and safety related concerns or issues.
