DIRECTOR OF GOLF PROPOSAL

IMPORTANT MEMBER NOTICE:

Director Of Golf (PGA Qualified)

After careful consideration and strategic planning, Brynhill Golf Club is planning to transition to a new model that involves the engagement of a self-employed Director of Golf. This decision is part of our ongoing efforts to optimise operational efficiency and better align with the new implementation of the indoor academy due to be completed in quarter 1 2024.

Proposal for Transitioning from an employed PGA Golf Professional to a Self-Employed Director Of Golf (PGA Qualified) running the indoor golf & academy and a full shop service.

We are exploring the possibility of transitioning from an employed PGA Golf Professional to a Self-Employed Director Of Golf (PGA Qualified) - Under this new role, the person would operate as an independent self employed PGA affiliated professional who would be required to provide the services of a fully stocked professional shop and also provide a repair and club fitting service along with golf instruction to our members or visitors. The person would also facilitate the operational services of the new indoor golf academy and simulators..

The Director of Golf plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of golf operations and ensuring the highest standards of service, professionalism, and member satisfaction at the golf club. This position requires a strong background in golf management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding golf experiences.

This role will be advertised through the PGA in the coming days and we will be welcoming applications from suitable candidates.

Jordan Taylor - PGA Professional

As a result of this proposed change our existing PGA Professional Jordan Taylor has unfortunately been made redundant and has been given 1 months notice in his present role as an employed PGA Professional. This decision has been made after thorough deliberation, considering various factors, and is not a reflection of Jordans’ skills, dedication, or contribution to the club.

We have invited Jordan to apply for the role when it is advertised. In fact we are doing everything we can to keep Jordan involved in the future of the club. With the new concept of the indoor academy and a fully stocked professional shop the new model will certainly require at least two people to effectively run it successfully.

Obviously this is a concerning time for Jordan personally, and as a club I am sure we will all come together to support Jordan and I know that you will also hope he is part of the new proposed model going forward.

I want to reiterate that the decision to make the existing employed PGA Professional role redundant is purely a commercial decision for the benefit of the club, members and visitors and is also a part of the strategic growth plan. We sincerely hope we can still find a way to keep Jordan involved at Brynhill as we implement this plan.

Jordan has been extremely professional throughout this process and I want to thank him personally for his dedication to serving the club and its members, also for his willingness to work with us as we hopefully find a beneficial solution. I will keep everyone informed of the short term progress as we complete this process. In the meantime it is service as usual from Jordan and operationally nothing has changed.

Kind Regards
