“THE NEST” INDOOR ACADEMY STORY

IT ALL BEGINS WITH AN IDEA

In July 2023 we had the opportunity of applying to Sport Wales for a grant. The grant was for a project that would benefit Junior golf and attract more of our local community into golf.

We had the idea of transforming our existing Pro-Shop building and the old adjoining Junior room into something rather special…A pro-shop of excellence and an indoor academy with a state of the art golf simulator.

In October 2023 we were advised by Sport Wales that we were successful in obtaining a £29k grant for our project. As a club we were thrilled, we drew up plans and work commenced on the building in March 2024. We consulted with Foresight Sports Europe with regards to the sim components.

The first phase of the project involved a complete clear out of the existing pro-shop, workshop areas and the trolley room storage. We set up a temporary Pro-Shop at the back of the clubhouse while we ripped out the existing slat walling and counter units in the pro-shop and knocked down walls to create a magnificent open space that will go onto to be the new Pro-Shop and indoor academy area.
